While both are good, I find the Beatles to be better.
And though I like the Stones, I think they're very overplayed and overrated.

Both bands could fall under that heading, but I think it's unfair. Most of the Stones best stuff rarely gets air time. Listen to Beggars Banquet (I'll send you six tracks to wet your beak if you like) and tell me what you think, that album is awesome, and should be respected as such, but is overlooked.

I have Beggar's Banquet downloaded, I just haven't had the chance to listen to any of it yet. I'll be sure to get around to that, though.

They both deserve their status

"If you want to learn about the Sixties, play the music of the Beatles." Aaron Copland. These guys know something about music theory Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland. These guys weren't pumping the Dave Clark Five or Led Zeppelin. And if you doubt this, maybe you should look into Brian Wilson's mental state after Peppers came out. |

the beatles are by the far the best hands down
20 number 1 hits in the USA in just 6 years speaks volumes The critical success achieved is unparalleled Their influence and legacy is stronger than that of the Rolling Stones despite disbanding almost 40 years ago
