^And inspire petty arguments on an unverifiable fact.

Is it anyone else's fault that you apparently never read magazines, books or blogs about music and avoid any item that contains a dissemination of opinions on the topic? I mean, if you haven't heard that before...you just haven't been listening. And ddp...I say the expansion of possibilities began earlier, with Rubber Soul.

Oh please, don't be so Eurotrash on me, I've read a few magazines. Why I can remember when People had Curt Kobain or whatever his name was on the cover, and I pick up GQ now and and again, which I should probably read more but hey we can't all be brilliant. Anyhow, if we're talking about expanding a sound I think we ought to give Orgy credit for introducing elctronic music into pop/mainstream culture. Now theres some pop influence! I mean, has anyone every heard anything better than Orgy's "Blue Monday"

You could be right about rubber soul.

It is harder to see now with so much time having passed but the beatles really did change everything.

Yesterday (not my favourite song) is the most covered song of all time.

Everybody from Tuck and Patti to Motley Crue have covered them.

Ringo practically invented modern rock drumming. The refrain of "Srgnt. Pepper" is about the most kickin' drums recorded up to that date.

They pioneered countless recording techniques.
Their songwriting and musicianship was second to none.
They had to stop playing live because it was too insane!!!

The also accomplished this in about 7 years. The stones have been at it for over 40 years.

TheBig3KilledMyRainDog Who is a bigger influence?

I don't even know who "Orgy" is so then can't be.

I'm gonna say...New Order's "Blue Monday" ...The original. Unless you were just being wry. I can't tell.

Have you heard Marvin ***e's Version? Amazing.

They censor his name because of the first three letters. But I'm talking about the guy who sang, "Let's Get It On".

1. You misspelled Kurt Cobains name just as any noob would.
2. You just compared The Beatles to Orgy.

Maybe it's just me, but it might hurt your cred just a little, you think?
