Collective Soul/ 90's alternative & post-grunge
 

... Any of us besides me still alive?? I am itching to talk CS and Joel Koesche!!! And other 90s favorites of course :)

No. Everyone who was alive in the 90s died.

I bump Collective Soul pretty often. Idk who Joel Koesche, is that one of it's members?

I knew it. And to think they called me crazy...

He was the second (well... As far as the rosters are concerned...) lead guitarist after Ross Childress "split"... But he came out with his own record (or whatever the hell the correct term for it is these days...) back in '09 if I'm not mistaken... I picked it up when they came to ATL during their "Rabbit" (for lack of a symbol) tour...

Now I usually don't go for the lead-FITB-gone-solo because its usually how the band meshes that really gets me, but I must admit I was incredibly impressed with everything about it, it was a concept album to boot that IMHO everyone should give a try front beginning to end at leasr once in their lives, if they like 90's sound AT ALL. It got me through some madness and I'm still mourning its loss when it failed to survive the death of my old abused BLAZER...

But I digress...

I could talk about CS all day; love their stuff... My daughter calls them "Ed" LOL. Which songs are you into at the moment... I can't stop listening to "Maybe" from Discoplines Breakdown.... I can't figure out why either lol

Oh, and if you want to give Joel a good trial run before listening to his solo album sart to finish, try out "I Don't Need Any More Friends"... It's on CS's "Afterwords" album and its heavy Joel with the classic CS twist; best song on the whole album (well, overall) as far as Im concerned... And that's difficult to admit coming from a long-time CS follower.

Ok I just remembered what the album is called. It's "Fight Years."

(Sorry, I prefer to remember things on my own because it actually flexes your brain's hippocampus which is the most "plastic" part of the brain...)

I'll check the album out. I don't really pay much attention to individual instruments since I don't know anything about playing them.

Once you reach a certain post count (I think it's 150 or so), you can edit it.

Its on your profile name....click user cp.

Go to the homepage. Click on "User CP" at the top left.



Again, top left. Under "Your Control Panel" you'll see "Your Profile", and under that you'll see "Edit your details". Click on that. It'll be right in the left middle of this pic...



After that, you'll be able to edit your user title in the first field. I don't know about how many posts you'll need before you can do it, though.

Okay now that I know how to post vids...

This is called "Firewalk" from Joel Kosche's "Fight Years" album. Very talented guitarist. I enjoy his lyrics and voice as well. I bought this album as an afterthought when Collective Soul played at the amphitheater... The audio in this particular youtube isn't the best but unfortunately not much JK on youtube...



This next track of his was actually on Collective Soul's "Afterwords" album, best track on the whole album if you ask me (that's not easy to admit coming from a longtime CS lover, but it basically bent over and spanked every other song on that album):
