I've never been much of a Who fan but holy **** that performance. And I can't argue with the status of that track.

Agreed. "I read the news today, oh boy" always reminds me of the day John was so senselessly killed.

Apart from this list, my favorite is:

Townsend was drunk, almost out of his mind, but he kept it together just enough.

That Daltrey scream is one of the top 10 moments of ROCK.

The one who really rocks there is Entwistle, imo. Not much of a Who fan either, but he's always been my favorite member by far. What a master.

Ya, his deep foundation is what allowed Townsend to f*ck around as much as he did on stage. But in the studio...........

+1. Plant's vocals always make me cringe. I'd take The Who and Kinks over Zep and The Stones.

1. Beatles
2. Kinks
3. The Who
4. Stones/Zep

Zep have better albums, but the Stones have better singles (although Satanic Majesties' Request is good, on par with I or II IMO), so it's a tie there.

Plant's vocals are 50/50 for me (that is, I only cringe half the time). I take The Kinks, Zep, and The Stones over The Who.
