Is Needles And Pins One Of The Best Pop Songs....
 

Is this song one of the most catchy pop songs of all time? I think it is the kind of song that you could probably listen to 20 times in a row! The Searchers just seemed to roll with the vocals and music.

I don't know if it's "one of the best pop songs" but it's a good song. I prefer the Ramones version to the Searchers one though.

I would have to say it is due to the music and style of the song. Surprisingly Cher version is the one that I like the least. It sounds like she is reading the lyrics for the first time while singing the song.............:hphones::(

It's a good song, but wouldn't even be in my top 200 for the 60s.

Really???? Really? not even in the Top 200 shocking, but then yet again when there were 1000s of good songs from that era I can see your problem with narrowing it down.:beer:

For me too it´s a pretty good song of innocent, early sixties pop, but not a particular stand out. In fact I think the Searchers themselves did better with the one about "... Ev Ry Time That You da-un da na Walk In The Room da-un da na..."

Yeah, it's really more about the 60s being an awesome time for music than it is about any flaws in Needles and Pins. Though I'm not crazy about the bridge of that song.

But we're talking about a decade that ran the gamut from Motown to the Beatles. From Stand By Me to Sunshine of Your Love. Coming up with a Top 1000 without leaving out something great would be hard to do.

And not every decade is so blessed. (Glares angrily at the 2000s)
