End of the line for The Allman Brothers Band?
No official announcement from the band's website, yet, but Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks have both issued statements that 2014 will be their last year with the band. Rumors of bassist Oteil Burbridge leaving the band were spreading earlier in the week (due to a Rolling Stone interview with Gregg Allman) but were dismissed by both Butch Trucks and Oteil a few days ago.
The band has cut back considerably on touring over the last 4 years, due to Gregg Allman's health (a liver transplant in 2010) and individual members working on their own projects. As 2014 will mark the 45th anniversary of The Allman Brothers band, it could be that the band members have decided to finish the year with a final tour and go their separate ways. Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks to leave the ABB at end of the year. Well, they probably won't pass through Denmark on the farewell tour, but it's been a great ride all these years and I am happy I saw them in the early 90s with Dickey Betts. Who here saw them with Duane Allman, that must have really been something.

^ I just ordered that book a couple of days ago, actually. A friend of mine read it and recommended it to me and everyone on the Allman Brothers Band website forum who've read the book, give it great reviews. I just started reading a biography on Janis Joplin and by the time I've finished with that book, "One Way Out" should be waiting for me at the post office.
