Well it depends what your looking for

If you want the funk check out Ege Bamyasi
If you want full on weirdness check out Tago Mago
If you want chilled out bliss check out Future Days
I would say Soundtracks is a good place to start , it`s a collecton of songs they recorded for some German films around 69/70 & is probably the nearest they ever came to ever having singles as such.

would porcupine tree be called prog rock?
if so, i love them, very clever band

sexy_drug 07-02-2005 10:28 AM

Heh the greatest would have to be Pink Floyd, Tool, The Mars Volta and love them or hate them but theve inspired many bands Rush

SATCHMO 07-02-2005 01:49 PM

Dude, I love Rush and don't give a turd about all the poop that people talk about em'.

Electric Ocean 07-02-2005 01:54 PM

Who's been talking poop about Rush?!?! Give me their names and addresses and I'll arrange it with Big Tony that they'll soon be sleeping with the fishes.

SATCHMO 07-02-2005 01:58 PM

OKAY, I'll have a list of names and adresses compiled in about 24 hours. No seriously, I think that Geddy Lee's voice is an aquired taste that a lot of people find annoying, which I can understand, but they still kick bottom.
