Been trying to figure out one of Hendrix's songs by ear for the last week or so. I try to refrain from just youtubing a how to on the song. I dont want to get accustom to just being able to look it up. I fear ill lean on that privy to much and my ears wont be as perceptive as they should. Its growing quite frustrating though. Of course I dont want to mimick the song note for note but im baffled completley at one part ....for the time being anyway. Still I never grow tired of listening to Hendrix on a daily basis.

This is my favourite of the classic Hendrix singles, along with Hey Joe, so you can see that I`m a sucker for the mellower Hendrix sound.
In fact I generally prefer long, rambling instrumental guitar stuff like the Allmans or Robert Fripp, so I wonder if anyone could recommend a Hendrix album that has lots of playing/improv and not too much singing. |

I have six of his albums. He's probably most successful musician in terms of posthumous releases. Thank God Hendrix recorded so much material...
I remember when I was on a huge Hendrix tangent. I downloaded a lot of Trower, Mahagony Rushy, and SRV. Those were the days... |
