One of these days I'll send you a PM with ten AOR albums that you need to hear.

Listening to Toto's first album. Two songs in and I'm sold. Asia, Fleetwood Mac, and now Toto? Your prediction seems to be bearing fruit. Send your list.

Will do but there's much better stuff than Asia to listen to out there, but their debut is still worth a listen though.

Put on Crime of the Century, Batty. If you don't like "School" and "Bloody Well Right", I'll eat my hat.

EDIT: Chula, my man! I'd have said Even in the Quietest Moments… but "Give a Little Bit" might start things on the wrong note for him.

The song "Crime of the Century" is really one of the most amazing songs from its time. In general I always preferred the Roger Hodgson material over that of Rick Davies, but Rick Davies was at his very best here.

Fans of Crime should really read this:

http://www.amazon.com/Abbey-Road-Zig.../dp/0739078585

He was behind the board for that album and provides some amazing insight into how it got made.

I have no idea what band(s) you're referring to.

And I saw your PMs, US. Was already digging on Toto IV when I saw it. Sweetness. They do have a bit of an eclectic sound, even if they're not as diverse as Fleetwood.

Toto are more diverse than Buckingham/Nicks era Fleetwood Mac, I thought you were listening to their debut which is diverse, Toto IV is not really diverse at all, just famous

I was listening to the debut at first. Their influences were more low key, whereas Fleetwood Mac wore theirs on their sleeves -- blues rock, folk, and country -- which made for a more overtly eclectic sound overall. They also beat the pants off of Toto as far as ballads go.
