I get the John Lennon joke, but shouldn't that be "All you need love is"?

Hmmmm, okay I will try. But, like me, you will eventually realise how good they are.

At first I didn't like it that much, it wasn't one of my favorites but I came to appreciate it more. It is attributed to be one of the origins of Space Rock, along with stuff by Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

Sorry, PoorOldPo, but I rather agree with Neapolitan´s first impression on Flying. I can well imagine that it was influential though, because it sounds so similar to some of the studio doodles -sorry, pioneering masterpieces of psychedelia -from Ummagumma.

Happily for me, the youtube clip you posted led directly to this version of All Too Much which I´d not heard before. This has lots going on to hold your interest and gives me a new-found respect for George Harrison - so, thanks to both of you for posting!

I am not entirely sure what it is about flying that catches me though, thats the thing, but the more I listen to it, the more beautiful and encapsulating, other-worldly it is for me.

^ OK, I´ll give it another try. After all, it took Neapolitan a couple of plays to appreciate it, and a nine-minute instrumental from the Beatles is such a strange thing. It´s like a direction that they could´ve taken, but decided not to, and so it leaves us wondering, "what if ...?"

Flying is sooooo obviously an early version of Hot As Sun Glasses.

EDIT: Reading over this on Hot As Sun Glasses, it appears that Flying was more likely a variant of Hot As Sun Glasses, which had been around for some years already.

I'm not going to be able to win you over to The Beatles, Janszoon. For me to do that, I'd have to be won over first.
