Gimme a Page solo that tops this.

Zappa is great at what he does which is a very free form type of thing. It works most of the time but that solo has more clams in it than a New England seafood platter. Not to mention his intonation is terrible in places.

FF to 3:30

Now you're just mindlessly defending Page and saying absurd things that you don't really mean. I'll back out of the convo now.

Because rock is the only genre that uses guitars, right, how silly of me.

I know you HATE when I bring stuff like this into the discussion, but who was winning BEST ROCK GUITARIST in all of the magazine polls during that time?

Talent wise Jimmy Page, riff wise Toni Iommi. I would rather listen to Sweet Leaf than Black Dog

Same here, although Black Sabbath has nothing that can compare to When the Levee Breaks.

And as long as we're mentioning that and Sweet Leaf...

I voted Page for demonstrated technical ability but would listen to Iommi more.

Also believe Iommi to be more of a genuinely good bloke.

Except if you're Tony Iommi.
