You've no appreciation for smooth west coast American rock.

From nr 1 (the fav one) to nr 8 (the less fav one) or is a mixed chart without order?

No order, but Victim of Love is definitely my favourite. :)

BUMP!

Couldn't find a better thread, so I'll post it here:
The Eagles are now on Spotify.

CerialKillah 06-25-2013 02:00 PM

That was my fathers favorite band..... so they're sentimental to me.
I like most of what they did.

Take it easy is a great song.

Like a number of bands from the era, I knew the solo artists before I knew the bands they were in. I can say that I prefer Don Henley's solo stuff. I think the first Eagles related song I heard was Glen Frey's Heat is on.

That's the one with the line, "Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy" isn't it? Yep, a great track. I like "Desperado", especially after having heard the Judy Collins version of it, which I would rec. to anyone who wants to wallow in a reflective mood.

I once lived in a shared apartment where by common consent The Eagles were really played to death, so I never listen to them these days, good though they are.

Thanks, mc! You've given me the perfect excuse to put up this gem from Don Henley:-

I don't know why, but this phrase gets me every time: "...to Six Flags over Jesus"

music_collector 06-04-2022 04:44 PM

Lol, I have never seen that clip. By the way, can we give kudos to Don's 70s 'fro? That guy had a great 'do back in the day.

I can relate to the play it to death bit. In university, I stayed in residence. The guy in the room across the hall from me played Live's Throwing Copper twice a day for what had to have been a semester.

Lisnaholic 06-05-2022 08:55 AM

^ Yes, it's a no-win situation when something is over-played like that: either you come to completely loathe the music or what is perhaps worse, you like it but almost literally can't hear it anymore. That happens to me with some of my favourite Floyd tracks: I put them on, but they are so familiar my mind just drifts away and stops listening...

music_collector 06-05-2022 06:38 PM

I can tell you that I listen to a B-side from that album (Hold me up) way more than the rest of the album now. It hasn't been spoiled for me, but pretty close!
