As a huge Doors fan though, I must also say that one thing that has always baffled me was how much so many Doors fans say their favorite Doors songs are "The End" and/or "When the Music's Over". To me these are practically the only songs on the Morrison albums that I don't like.

Ah, Ze Doors. The soundtrack of my highschool (together with The Who), and still up there with the golden few. They were and still are unique, not least since they've managed to maintain the image of the quintessential american 60's without even being the least bit psychedelic. (And no, "The end" isn't psychedelic, it's psychotic). I mean, how great is that! And not one bad album in sight, not one. I'd even be hard pressed to single out even a few standout tracks, so instead I will shift the focus a bit and single out Ray Manzarek as the coolest member of the four. Any questions?

Agreed. Morrison was cool too, but was kind of a douche when under the unfluence.

Personal Favorites, Touch Me, Five to One (especially live), and Riders on the Storm.

It's hard to pick a favorite, but I'd go with "Spanish Caravan."

Anyone who remembers, will probably recall me saying I really am not a doors fan in the slightest.... but the one exception for me is:

I love the demented circus aspect of it, though I think they same type of thing was done better with The Beatles "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite".

But I still like the Doors song in its own little twisted sounding way. I picture a scene not unlike "Pink Elephants on Parade" to this one. Whenever I hear it, I think to myself.. I just did acid, and I do not even have any!.

I think that's what drew me to The Doors initially.

Riders on the Storm is incredible. Probably my favourite.

I always liked their cover of Back Door Man. I also like Roadhouse Blues.
