4. Songs about sex , drugs , deprevation , heartache , rejection , revenge & decadence are better than kiddie love songs & mystical bollocks.
Beatles - Wrote chart friendly pop songs & ballads. Stones wrote gritty hard rock songs

5. The Beatles had to have their faces on album covers , The Stones could stick a picture of a toilet on theirs & still have it sell millions.

6. Stones - The 70s , Exile On Main Street, Sticky Fingers, It`s Only Rock n Roll
Beatles - The 70s , Wings , Yoko Ono`s songwriting & Ringo Starr solo albums *shudder*

7. The Beatles stopped touring because they couldn`t hack it , Keith Richards played an entire gig at gunpoint.

8. Charlie Watts would never lower himself to doing Thomas The Tank Engine voiceovers.

9. Paul McCartney - The Frog Chorus , Mick Jagger - She`s The Boss.
Both bad yes but if forced at gunpoint I know what i`m going to choose.

10 Apperence , looking like you just got dragged from the street > Matching suits. How many bands these days look like this...

And how many bands these days look like this ....

No contest

**** off. Ok to start the beatles made the 3 guys type rock band so if there was no beatles there would be no stones. And mick jagger has no class at all he stole his close friends girl friend and then dumped her 2 weeks later. What the rolling stones made gritty hard rock songs WHAT come on gimme shelter for one.

Assuming you meant what you meant when i inserted commas where I thought they went I have several questions...

1. **** Off. Really? You're mad? Explain.

2. How did the Beatles make the three guys type rock band? There were 4, or depending on who you ask 5, guys in the group.

There were definitly 5 in the stones. Where is the 3 coming from?

3. Who's girlfriend did he steal? You don't actually say. Did you mean Clapton (not a stone) stole Harrisons (Beatle) wife (not girlfriend)? Talk about no class.

4. Be honest. Is gimme shelter the only track you know?

Beatles are over-hyped, over played and utterly dull mixing bland pop with even blander ****e. They're like the Radiohead of the 60's no real talent and nothing brilliant to prove their popularity, just for some reason it's cool to like them.

What do you define talent as? Because to say those bands have no talent is just plane dumb. Are they overrated? Probably. But that doesn't mean they aren't good. Listen to 'Something' or 'Pyramid Song' and tell me that those are bad songs.

This thread has become awful.

They are very different sounds and it's easy to see how an argument for both could be made.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

What I mean by 3 guy type band is not elvis a bass, guitar, and drums, maybe key bord.

And you have a point about clapton but the point is thea he dumped her 2 weeks later and that he had bin with her for a week and he told him not to do it and it was claptons girl in 1989 and no i am not a todal fan boy i just read his book.
