4) The Timebox

Our only Northern England entrant, formed in Southport, Lancashire in 1966. This group were the ultimate Mod act, taking jazz and giving it a flawless pop edge. Signed to the Deram wing of Decca, The Timebox were huge on the club and University circuits in England, they're promise however was shockingly never met by record sales, leaving this group albumless in the 1960's.

3) The Uglys

Signed to Pye in 1965, this Birmingham act was led by the marvellous Steve Gibbons. In 1965 the world was this band’s oyster with the release of two Disk Jockey favourites, It’s Alright and A Friend, but for a distributors strike at the time, this release would have gone to number one and paved the way for Ugly domination of the UK for the next four years at least, alas history is a cruel beast. Several attempts to revive the band failed in the late sixties, but there is no denying quality.

2) The Sonics

If you ever wanted to know what a ton of dynamite would sound like if you lit the fuse and gave it some microphones, guitars, drums and a saxophone, than listen no further. Here it is ladies and gentlemen, 100% unfiltered TNT, all the way from Tacoma, in America's northwest, The Sonics. This band is the ultimate US Garage act and the marker for Rock & Roll with a bit of bite.
