I think Zappa was a musical genious but I just don't think he matches the stature of Bowie's music.

Maybe we should have The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zep, Pink Floyd and Dylan meet in a poll and have the winner face Bowie.

You underestimate this forum's amount of Beatle haters and Pink Floyd lovers. I think it would be a close race between PF and David Bowie with PF coming out on top.

I think it would work, maybe do it in a like a week or something. So everyone isn't thinking about this when it comes around again.

That would be too broad I think, you would probably have to do one for each genre, or at least have a bracket for each.
