It's interesting how this poll is revealing how unimaginative you all are. I'm the misanthrope and I still am picking the joker over the she-male. |
Well my theory's been blown to hell V_V

It's Bowie.

I'm trying to count off the albums from both that I love and coming up even...
Zappa: Sheik Yerbouti Shut Up n' Play Yer Guitar Apostrophe We're Only In It for the Money Absolutely Free Weasels Ripped My Flesh Bowie: Ziggy Stardust Hunky Dory Station to Station Low Aladdin Sane Scary Monsters Nope, can't do it. |
I can't vote either. Bowie's consistency let's him down but his willingness to new embrace new sounds has always been a huge asset and he is a very capable musician.
Zappa's sense of humour and awesome musicianship is legendary but we could point the finger at him for almost TOO much material and sometimes absurdist material for the sake of it. |
At the risk of sounding like an overhyping maniac Bowie is a king in music. We could have opened this up to all bands from all genres and he'd still probably be in the top 4.

Bowie has trounced Zappa, nice
