It's so hyped, but where's the actual innovation? White Light/White Heat is absolutely awesome, but the rest of their albums are some of the most overrated and boring tripe. I'm going to have to assume that most people think VU is innovative purely because they've been constantly told that it is.

I'll go as far as to say that their latter 2 albums weren't particularly innovative, but VU&N sure as hell was. The odd yet relaxing vocals of Nico, the screeching electric violin on Venus In Furs and Heroin, the minimalistic qualities of all the songs themselves, the crazily distorted guitars throughout, ect.... I'd say that's pretty damn innovative.

Personally I find VU and Nico completely unlistenable and that's not going to change, I've given it more than enough time of day to be quite honest.

I just find it odd that you would consider WL/WH awesome and VU&N unlistenable... either way though I'm glad you like at least some of their music..
