this is fucking cruel. My favourites will differ depending on disposition so I'll just vote for the one that hasn't got a chance because musicbanter is a rotting husk of corruption bent on annihilating all that is jangly

Can were more creative than any other band that came out of Germany in the seventies, and that's certainly saying something. They owe more to classical composers than the tenets and structures of conventional rock n' roll. Their vast influence on avant-garde music is rivaled by perhaps the Velvet Underground, and they were certainly far more interesting. Can is indeed the proverbial "shit."
