Can were more creative than any other band that came out of Germany in the seventies, and that's certainly saying something. They owe more to classical composers than the tenets and structures of conventional rock n' roll. Their vast influence on avant-garde music is rivaled by perhaps the Velvet Underground, and they were certainly far more interesting. Can is indeed the proverbial "shit."
