Heat Eleven: Battle of the Bands
The Zombies:
Some cool 60’s rock *** psychedelic pop check out Odessey and the Oracle, unfortunately also hyped by pitchfork. Neil Young: Ignoring that he’s Canadian he has some brilliant solo stuff most notably After the Gold Rush, Neil Young is pretty much the perfect artists to win this, he’s influential, has a great set of solo albums. AND he’s in this competition with other bands. Fifty Foot Hose: Check out Cauldron for some solid American psychedelic rock. Flower Travellin’ Band: One of the best bands to come out of Japan playing their distinct version of prog and hard rock covers, until they get to Satori, they’re jangling heavy masterpiece. These guys are very cool. White Noise: Check out An Electric Storm, cool experimental/psychedelic rock. |
I'm going for Neil Young, I just can't ignore the huge amount of his albums that I love.

Neil Young for sheer longevity and eclectism.

It was a toss up between White Noise and Fifty Foot Hose for me. They both put 2 of the most amazingly different albums of the 60's and were sadly ignored. Fifty Foot Hose called heads correctly. |
White Noise for it's Doctor Who connection and because the others on the list do nothing or little for me.

Close call between the Zombies and Neil Young for me, but I'm more familiar with the Zombies' work than Neil Young's, hence my vote. |
