Default Heat Ten: Battle of the Bands

Comus:

My namesake and ultimately the best and most awesome band of the 70’s, with only one brilliant album, and a rather forgettable one that isn’t usually regarded. First Utterance is absolutely amazing and a must have for any music fan, check them out and don’t forget to vote for em.

Faust:

Experimental krautrock with some very good early albums unfortunately hyped by Pitchfork, so er, they’re not that good now.

Buffalo:

Check out Volcanic Rock for some awesome proto-metal from Australia in 1973, sounds sort of ahead of it’s time but I don’t think they’ve aged very well.

The Shadows:

Incredible mainly instrumental band, I have one review of their best effort in my review corner, check it out. Formed as the backing band for Cliff Richard.

The Red Krayola:

Check out their debut The Parable of Arable Land for some good, not great, psych/experimental/noise.
