Can

Arguably the biggest and most important Krautrock group Can made people once again proud to be German and you would too if you heard Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi in the early 70’s.

Room

With only one, rather great (in my opinion) album Pre-Flight room are a very interesting, to say the least, progressive rock band, I’m sure I reviewed them (I think) check it out.

Billy Joel

With a career spanning decades Billy Joel has created an endless supply of great music. The finest that piano based anything has to offer. Check out Piano Man and Turnstiles and basically anything he’s ever done.

Deep Purple

Everyone who knows anything either loves or hates this band, I don’t need to convince anyone otherwise.

Love

I love these guys, their pop stylings laced with psychedelia makes me happy in the nether regions, get Da Capo.

All you need is Love.

What did you expect me to vote for?

Can actually, I've never heard (remembered) you talk about them but they're just infinitely your style.

I like Can, but they're hideously overrated.

Comes with the territory to be honest.

Love by a mile, one of the 60's best.

Again, difficult, i really wanted to vote Love but Can just edged it

This Heat is a bit of a tight one

I have to vote Billy Joel, even though I know I'm pretty much throwing my vote away.

Love of course.

I have'nt heard the Room album and I dislike DP, Love and Billy Joel so it's Can all the way definitely.

this one's looking tight if it's a three way tie for second I'll have to make a tiebreaker heat with three bands and only one progressing, that will be quite harsh.

Hopefully Urban will help put Can through then!

I'm not gonna vote. I haven't heard Room or Love and don't care for the others.

Maybe you should, Can are a big influence on Radiohead

deep Purple got my vote...no doubt their musoc was amazing but thast just me...this heat is pretty tough though!!

Can may be my hands-down favorite avant-garde band. There's so much that they incorporated into their first works that surpassed any other Krautrock. Absolutely superb.

Tago Mago is really famous, but I think Soundtracks was a better album. Can is a very good starting point for Krautrock I think..

What's wrong with Billy Joel?

Some people cant get over Uptown Girl.......who can blame them


I keep going back to it though, his 60s and 70s stuff is marvellous

I like Uptown girl, but it wasn't his big hit, it was just ruined and brought into the forefront by that terrible boyband.

Even his supposedly better earlier material stinks.

What does it actually smell of Proggy?

His hits were actually good though. Miami 2017, Movin' Out, especially Captain Jack.

Miami 2017 is brilliant beyond compare.
