Well, you all have a week to get through it, no such luxury for the later heats.

While Cheap Thrills is an excellent album, if this is the only top quality release they have then Talking Heads have to take it on consistency. I don't mind Yes but I have to be in the right frame of mind.

Finally, a balanced heat. All the other ones were lopsided with 1-2 good bands and the rest obscure tosh.

Although probably not as influential as the other four, Steely Dan has graced a few brilliant records and is one of my favorite acts of the 1970s. As much fondness as I have for Eno-era Roxy Music and some of Talking Heads' work, Steely Dan just tops it for me.

I'm not sure how Talking Heads managed to be Classic Rock/Prog/Psychedelic (even if they made an album before 1980), but they are the best New Wave band and I adore them.

I voted for Yes for boo boo. They at least deserve to make some hall of fame.

Piss Me Off 12-30-2008 04:21 AM

Talking Heads for me, David Bryne being one of my favourite slightly-mental people.

All great artists, but I gotta give it to my homeboys.

Terrible Lizard 12-30-2008 06:50 PM

I voted "Yes" just to spite all you ****ers.
