Default Heat One: Battle of the Bands

David Bowie:

The chameleon of rock David Bowie has stayed within the pop sensibility of whatever era he was currently occupying. He needs no introduction, those that would like his music has most certainly heard it. His most celebrated work comes from the late 60’s to the Early 70’s including my personal favourite The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

Gentle Giant:

What can I say? Gentle Giant are the bomb if you don’t have Octopus, and to a lesser extent the rest of their discography notably Three Friends, then you really don’t have any prog worth it’s salt. With very experimental and progressive ideas Gentle Giant mixed the weird with the standards of the time. If you don’t have any Gentle Giant, make sure you get some before you vote.

Os Mutantes:

The Brazillian psychedelic rock band Os Mutantes has been hailed by critics and fans alike, check out their self titled debut from 1968.

The Monks:

Ah the Monks, endorsed by Henry Rollins and Jello Biafra among others, does this band need any more reason to vote for them? Check out Black Monk Time and be prepared to **** bricks when you’re told that it’s from 1966.

Trapeze:

Many of the band members of Trapeze have went on to fame and fortune with bands such as Deep Purple, Judas Priest and Whitesnake, but from the legacy of the band some rather choice, if uneven recordings came to be. Check out Medusa their 1970 Magnus Opus, their other albums are worthwhile but be prepared to be given some very varied quality in songwriting.

Gone with The Monks, they were way ahead of their time and Black Monk Time is just an incredible album, everyone else can vote for David Bowie

Bowie's utter rubbish of his later years makes my comments far more reliable than yours.
