I'm not a big fan and I think there are many bands better than them, some of them in the poll. Even Paul's solo career is better than Beatles to me. But they're probably the most influent artists in pop music ever followed by the Stones. But of course everyone in the poll is very influent too, most of them according to the genre we're talking about. For instance, I think the most influential band to alternative rock and lo-fi stuff is the Velvet Underground.
