The Ventures are the archetype
"Rock band" with rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass and drums. Buffy Holly, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry geez even Cliff Richard & the Shads were all the templates for The Beatles' template. Even the "ultimate inspiration" ultimately had inspiration.
