The most influential rock artist is hands down elvis for obvious reasons which has yet to be mentioned. lets take our roots into consideration.
on another note avril lavinge or whatever her damn name is no influence on the music scene at all. the only thing she has influenced me to do vomit. simple plan may have been cool in 7th grade but we all grow up and look back and think to ourselves "we did such silly things"
if you decide to retaliate by pointing out the fact that i spelled a few words wrong your retarded, stick to the subject at hand
I can't even begin to comment on the irony here.

I just voted for Bob Dylan. Civil Rights Movement is more interesting than magical animals or whatever.

ok this is what i think.

im rather suprised that jimmy is sooo low!!

i cant beleive it, ive seen and heard so many interveiws with thhe name hendrix as a hero, influence, or refference. sometimes you can even hear it if you try had enough in some modern rock songs,

but i do think he mostly influenced guitarists, (besides the guitar, no other instrument in hendrix experience were that great) and the guitarists usually write the music.

i must say, he problalbly influenced more blues than rock,

but i went to the experience jimmy hendrix 2008 tour, and there were many modern rock and blues guitarists there. if that concert hasnt hit ur state yet i would reccomend going.

To be fair, you really couldn't hear their contributions because a) Jimi's guitar dominated the record and b) Jimi dominated their contributions to the band. Mitch Mitchell said he used to get so pissed at Jimi during sessions that he would have to go outside. And when he came back, Jimi already recorded the bass parts himself.

Lol that's hilarious. I never really pictured Jimi as someone who would be such a controller.

Sign of the Apocolypse:

More kids are playing instruments now because of Rock Band and Guitar Hero than because of any of these artists.
