The Beatles blow both them away. Elvis was a vocalist of other people's music and Michael Jackson as a pop artist was not as influential as the Beatles. Bill Haley had the first rock and roll hit and Chuck Berry had a top ten hit before Elvis in 1955. I give it to Chuck Berry the original rock and roll songwriter/guitarist.
