up until ragtime
what all kinds of music did we have? classical opera folk/tribal gospel i cant think of any more anyway it was Scott Joplin that started the whole ragtime genre (btw, ragtime was the first american genre) which gave birth to damn near every genre we listen to today so i vote for Scott Joplin to be King of Ragtime (he already holds that title) AND King of Rock & Roll |

Only 1 "King Of Pop"=MICHAEL JACKSON No one else compares to either.
