Spinning Pepper on vinyl tonight to celebrate. "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" and "Lovely Rita" sound even cooler now that I've seen McCartney perform them live.

I forgot to do a tribute spin for the anniversary. The last time I played it I ran in a snag. I found out I really don't care for John's panting at the end of the song. I think he over did it to the point of ad nauseum. Nearly ruins the song, thanks a lot John. But to end on a positive note Paul bass playing is simple but absolutely devastating.

Sad thing is, I remember in 1987 when it was really "20 years ago today" and all the news outlets had stories about it. I must be getting old.

White Album might have the best aggregate song quality but Revolver is their most cohesive and best paced work so it's what I voted for.

For me it's

Average: With The Beatles, Beatles For Sale, Please Please Me
Great: Help!, Let It Be, A Hard Day's Night
God level: Rubber Soul, Sgt Pepper, White Album, Revolver, Abbey Road

The only Beatles album I would consider Average was Let It Be. I voted Sgt Pepper but I could have easily gone with Rubber Soul (note my name) or Revolver.

Revolver off the top of my head, if I go back and listen to them it might change
