I remember when Sergeant Pepper came out. My parents bought me a mono version of it because we didn't have a stereo back then. Apparently those old mono LP's are hard to find and command a lot of money when you can find them in perfect shape. Too bad I didn't keep it...

I voted White Album. So much variety on one album. The next best is a tie between Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road. Revolver is IMO seriously overrated, I think it's one of their worst ones.
Now if I could count "Past Masters, Volume 2", which collects all the non-album singles of the second half of their career, that would hands down be their best album. |

Gotta say Abbey Road, especially when one takes into consideration that it was their real final album.
And I feel it was a great finale, "Let It Be" was too somber for me, Abbey Road was all about Beatles' ability to create music with fairytale magic. Also Abbey Road is tight as hell. |
