I think that's a classic example of the so-called "spoiler" effect. Beatles fans will stand by their group, but the Stones fans here probably prefer the Kinks and the Who, hence the Stones' miserable showing.

i know i fit in that category ^^^
i voted kinks cause i cant think of an album by any of the above i like or listen to more than the village green preservation society it was closely seconded by beggars banquet though.

Voted Yardbirds, in the end it was a tough choice between them, The Who, The Kinks and the Animals, but I feel the Yardbirds have been more consistent in the british invasion era (ie if you disclude the Who's later stuff)

I went with the Beatles. Out of the bands listed there, I could only make an informed judgement on the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Who, but I love the Beatles just cause of how their music progressed from being simple catchy pop songs to crazy experimental songs and back again.
