Mother Tongue

Their debut came out way back in 94 and was an explosive mix of dirty blues, acid rock and some insane drumming and has always been a favourite of mine although I never kept up with them. They are however back with a new album and if the tracks on myspace are anything to go by, it's another absolute stormer. Any fans? Anybody got any off their releases? ;)

Check out this track from the debut played live last year:

Sometimes I want to just hear music that is a little looser in it's arrangement compared to a polished and bland workout. I think their debut is tight as a nuns bits.

Wow...I don't hear many bands that I love right away, but I think these guys are pretty damn awesome, and I've only listened to the few songs on their myspace page. Which other albums besides "Follow the Trail" would you recommend? That seemed to be the only one really featured on their page.

I have only got their debut which was simply called Mother Tongue and it is a storming album.

They're pretty good. From what I've heard I'd say Broken is probably their best album. Sista Sunshine and the last Instrumental Jam are mind blowing.

jackhammer 06-09-2008 01:41 PM

I would like to hear these. :D

I would like to help, unfortunately I don't have the CD. I have a friend who has it. I'll see if I can borrow it next time I see him.

Does anyone want their new album Follow the Trail? I mistakingly downloaded it thinking it was Mother Mother.

;)

I take it back. The new album, thus far sounds atrocious. Bland commercial pap. Am I listening to the same band?

Could anyone PM whatever they have, I'd like to hear more.

Dr_Rez 06-13-2008 11:20 PM

Can't seem to find there debut album anywhere... :(

Did you know though that Jesse Tobias there guitarist was in the Chili Peppers replacing Navarro in 93.

Track 3 on the debut has one of the best drum rolls I have ever heard ;)

Agreed. Broken and The Seed though are my favorites. And thanks for "telling me where the album was on my computer", i enjoyed it and am looking forward to hearing there newer material.

edit: No **** everything i just said. After listening again, Damage is easily the best song on there. A solid group of riffs that are used the entire song.

He was also on Morrissey's last album, co-wrote a load of songs.
