Hahaha! You son of a bitch.

Did Devo plan for the members all being the same height?

Great band, with immensely talented musicians such as Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Billy Powell and Steve Gaines. A band that wanted to go out there and have some fun, only taken seriously by their critics.

Their debut album is a solid recording and a highly important one for the scene and One More From The Road is a superb live album.

I like Skynyrd, but I have to be in the mood for them.

I'll remember to bring one of their CDs next time I go to the shooting rally or enter the lawnmower racing tournament.

I don't listen to them often, but have all of their albums. The first album came out when I was a junior in high school. They were a great band.

The original band was one of the greatest bands in the history of rock, IMO.

In 2000, when I was 16 and a junior in high school I had this awesome history teacher. Anyways, I finally ordered a Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt from some magazine and got it in the mail. So he's taking attendance one day and goes "Dan (me) is wearing a Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt. I saw them here in Chicago right before the plane went down." That was so badass. From then on we always discussed good music. He had seen Skynyrd, Zeppelin, etc., etc.

Cool story. It's great how music connects people. Never saw them live, but have been listening to them since the first album came out. Pick up "Free Bird - The Movie" (dvd) if you want to see some great live performances (the original band), and One More From The Road (Deluxe Edition c.d.) is also essential to have if you like these guys.

Love Skynyrd! One of my all-time favorite bands. Lynyrd Skynyrd was the band that introduced me into the world of classic rock.

Completely agree with you there. One thing I've always admired about them is how consistent they were with their music. They put out a serious amount of hits in their heyday. Hardly ever would you run into a dud on any of their albums. And with the amount of music that they put out, they managed to make their songs all sound a good deal different. Never would you hear a song with a similar riff. And just look how they have survived the test of time.

Its a shame that the "redneck" class has been associated so strongly with Lynyrd Skynyrd. In my eyes you most definitely don't have to be in a Southern or redneck setting to appreciate Skynyrd. They truely were a very innovative and talented group of musicians that brought a lot to the table.

I've been enjoying their latest CD God and Guns

But if a redneck asks me about them, I'll talk trash about them and see what happens, just for fun.

You gotta be careful though, dishing Skynyrd in the state of Tennessee is very dangerous.

As it should be. Beautiful state. Visited it recently. Great band, Lynyrd Skynyrd in my opinion. Alot of great songs the radio never touched, like Railroad Song.
