Default Janis Joplin

gee whiz this gal is amazing. im listening to 'pearl' for the 4th or so time, its a great album, not one song on it is bad. i remember in argentina, i was at a bar that had a music kind of theme to it, the walls were covered with huge pictures of john lennon, miles davis, jimi hendrix ect. and out in the balcony there was this big floating cube thing, suspended by the roof, and on it was janis joplin's face smiling and pointing at me. i had had 4 tequilas and wine at that point, and the moment was perfect, i was so happy.
anyway, what do you guys think of her? i also think she's very pretty, i would love to have known her, id love to give her a big hug, and tell her not to worry about all those ******* guys who ditched her, apparently she took that lethal dose of heroin to help her cope with a guy standing her up. i love her glasses in that photo.

I don't think she was pretty physically, but her voice was honest. She meant what she sang. I'm a big admirer and love a lot of her live stuff. An emotional gal.

I love Janis Joplin's version “Little Girl Blue," which was originally done by Nina Simone. Has anybody else compared the two? Which do you think is better?
