Chuck Berry & the R n' R hall of fame

Chuck Berry and the R n' R hall of fame
Anyone seen Chuck lately?
I think he's still going at it down south somewhere.
I used to see him and my uncle play all the time. He
played keys for him. Who else were the first inducted
into the Rock n' Roll hall of fame?

There are some people that should never get old or rather should never die.

The first inductees to the Rock Hall of Fame in 1986 were:

* Buddy Holly
* Chuck Berry
* Elvis Presley
* Fats Domino
* James Brown
* Jerry Lee Lewis
* Little Richard
* Ray Charles
* Sam Cooke
* The Everly Brothers

I firmly believe Bill Haley should've been inducted the first year also. Haley just never got the respect he deserved. Today his importance just isn't understood.

Also, the Rock Hall of Fame needs to change their name to the Pop Hall of Fame, now that they're inducting rap/hip-hop acts etc.

published on Monday, July 23, 2007

"The ASU Marching Band will perform with Rock and Roll greatness on Thanksgiving at Sun Devil Stadium.

After the ASU football team finishes the first half against USC on Nov. 22, the band will take the field with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Chuck Berry for a special performance.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to perform with a rock and roll legend like Chuck Berry," ASU marching band director Jim Hudson said. "It is an incredible experience for the marching band students to be able to interact with an icon."

The halftime show, which will be nationally televised along with the game on ESPN, will feature a four-song medley by Berry and the band and a pyrotechnics display.
Berry, will also conduct a seminar for the band giving away his advise on living a life as a musician.

Before working with Berry, the band will also perform a medley of songs by The Doors at football games on Sept. 1 and 15 to honor the 40th anniversary of their first album release.

In addition, the band will honor legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich with tributes on Sept. 8 and 22."

Chuck will live on through his music, long after his death.
