Looked today, from a Live at Deeds poster, and signed the day of the concert.

Meet the new boooossss
Same as the old booooossss Behind Blue eyes See me Feel me Kids are alright can't explain Love the Who Great thread starter. The Zep are okay didn't they do a song about an old lady going up a ladder to heaven or something and the theme to top of the pops. I wonder what happened to their other shed load of songs. Like black sabbath, man had they not made paranoid they wouldn't be in LA snorting ants for fun they'd be tipping rubbish bins in Birmingham. Did black sabbath make another song? All they play when they have a news article about them is paraonoid. One song can make you innit. The who are the best rock band because they sang about growing up and not about an old lady going up a ladder to heaven. |

Personally, I like The Who, I think they're very good and Pete is a supremely talented songwriter and musician, but I also feel they should have quit after Keith died. Not a single album was released after 1978 that I feel was a worthwhile creative accomplishment.

It's absolutely ridiculous to label legendary bands like Sabbath and Zeppelin as one-hit wonders when their entire discographies merit great appreciation (well, Sabbath was amazing with Ozzy, can't say I enjoy Dio too much). Not to mention the fact that their combined influence probably holds sway over every single metal band out there today... If you're going to criticize a band, why don't you listen to more than one song to give them a little bit more of a chance? Led Zeppelin did so much right, and it's unfair to label them as such.

Fair play.
But whenever a tv show shows sabbath they only ever play paranoid and whenever they show zep they show whole lotta love or stairway Always Always. Whereas the Who they show loads of songs. Platinum is one thing but westlife are more successful then the beatles you know? Anyway some bands have fans that will buy anything but the Who's fans are more discerning in taste and probably more depth to them then Sabbath fans with their fangs and fake blood like kids at holloween. The who were about abuse, growing up and much more then stupid black magic which the sabbath only come across as an idea by chance and had no knowledge of it like their fans think they had. |
