Since it first came out over 25 years ago, Bon Jovi’s 'Livin’ on a Prayer' has been an all-time favorite of millions across the world. The song is a fusion of the best elements of hard-driving, heavy metal, storytelling rock n’ roll and the romanticism of pop music. The song tells us about Tommy and Gina’s love. They are badly struck by economic hard times and struggle to make ends meet. As the song progresses, things change and it seems that their love is indomitable. Love, again, is triumphant. The choruses used in the song are considered as one of the best ever used. Shmoop.com has some interesting trivia on this all-time rock favorite.

I have a life-long relationship with Classic Rock. It's been love/hate at times, but lately I've rediscovered my love for the first bands I ever got into. Band like: The Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Black Sabbath, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, and, of course, The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
See the thing is that my father played in a classic rock cover band when my siblings and I were very little, but we moved 500 miles away, and he had to give that up. But not before he passed on the passion for music to us. Not long after moving, we four kids started our own cover band when I was 11. We dubbed ourselves Little Wing after the Jimi Hendrix song, and we lasted under that name for almost four years. Then puberty, angst, drug experimentation, changing line-ups and a growing passion for Metal led us down a different path. Recently, we hatched a plan for a Little Wing reunion. Complete with one of our rhythm guitar players flying in from Colorado to join us. I've been learning a lot of songs that we never really played in the old days, and also re-learning some of the ones we did. It's really been taking me back and bringing on strong surges of nostalgia. Almost as if I'm really hearing some of these songs again for the first time, but with a different ear: one that's been honed on as broad a spectrum of music as I can bring in, and now, getting back to the source. I'm a fan of Classic Rock again.

I love classic rock. It took me awhile to appreciate. I grew up listening to stuff like The Beatles, Jethro Tull, The Doors, Led Zep of course, Cream, Hendrix, etc. When I was like 12-16 I thought my family's taste in music was "weird." It took me 17 years to really enjoy it and stop basing my taste in music off of BET's 106 and Park.
