I think the Doors music remains timeless. To me they don't sound as dated as some of the 60s bands.
Morrison was an excellent songwriter and the band's funked up keyboard sound does it for me. I love songs like "Backdoor Man," "When the Music's Over," "Peace Frog," "LA Woman," "20th Century Fox," and "The End." They rate on my top 10 band list most days.

I will add that Morrison is still alive. He's pumping gas and selling slim jims at a Mobile Fast Stop on Exit 24 of the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey.
