I'm slowly warming up to the Doors (from their first three albums) but I still hesitate to say I really like them that much. I enjoy their music while it's playing but I rarely find myself reaching for their albums when I go to listen to music. Not sure what is keeping me from really liking them.

Never got 'em.
My opinion is that Morrison was/is overrated.

I dig The Doors, but feel they aren't quite riders on the storm. They just really don't help me to break on through to the other side.

I like them. They aren't on the top of my list of classic rock but they deserve a mention.

I think like many bands, the best songs are the ones you never hear. I do think Jim was a true poet, at least early on. "the End" being used in Apocalypse now was just so perfect. I tell you, when we play L.A. Woman or roadhouse blues in bars, the place goes nuts. Soul Kitchen, Peace frog, when the musics over. So much god stuff I wish you would hear instead of Light my fire, or Touch me.

Modern bands and music pull major influences from the Doors, especially since the early 90's.
