It's always interesting for me to talk about Van Halen considering I've NEVER been a big "fan" of them. Overall I appreciate their influence and significance more than I do their music ( ) ! That said, their first album is unquestionably one of the greatest debut rock albums of all time, as many have RIGHTFULLY stated. I only own their first two records, and truthfully, I'm fine with that. As far as the greatest Van Halen song EVER recorded? I say 'Atomic Punk' HANDS DOWN! Quintessential Van Halen! Courtesy of a VERY CASUAL "listener" ( ).

The band seemed to become more approachable when Sammy took over the vocals. They morfed into a radio friendly band at that point. It was like oh look there is Van Halen sounds more high class! Davis Lee Roth brought the goods and Sammy just refined the sound!

I dig both DLR and Sammy's legacy in VH, though I overall prefer DLR. But Sammy and VH's "Right Now" - awesome song.
