I would think after a while all that makeup would have adverse effects on the health of their skin.

I doubt that as Kiss are actually one of the smartest bands around. They marketed their product and made a fortune out of it in the 1970s and 1980s and are still reaping the rewards now. A perfect example of business acumen.

Plus, with education from Neil Bogart (Casablanca), Bill Acoin (first manager), and I think Steve Delaney (teacher of their presentation), you had three great teachers who formed the foundation of what happened next. In the beginning, they were a club band that wanted to go beyond who needed the extra lessons on how to get to the next step and the lessons were learned.

OK. But they acted more stoopid than the Three Stooges.

Why do so many people enjoy stoopidity as entertainment? I only like the music of Kiss for the sake of the music. I hate the lyrics and the stage show (judging from the snippets I´ve seen on the Internet).

Why do you not like stupidity as entertainment? Are all your conversations with your friends extended discussions on the political climate of the Ming dynasty? Have you never in your life told a dirty joke or laughed at Spongebob Squarepants? Not everything has to be brain surgery. Sometimes brainless fun is all that is required.

Well, I like intelligent stoopidity. A creative joke about cutting farts for example.

But stoopid stoopidity? "Indiscretion in the Ladies Room" for example? Or "Getaway" ("I gotta, gotta getaway! Gotta, gotta getaway!" Repeat, repeat.). I´d die of embarassment to perform that stuff in front of an auditorium full of people while wearing greasepaint.

And Gene sticking his tongue out at the audience and spitting phony baloney blood is supposed to be entertaining? What´s the point?

Still - some of their hard-rocking songs from the 1970s are OK.

Who cares how intelligent it is, so long as it's funny? If I were to bother with that kind of thought then I might miss out on brilliance such as this...

The problem with KISS though is it isn't funny, it's just lame.

GWAR gets the the thumbs up though.

I'm not the biggest KISS fan, but that's because I just don't care, not because I think they're dumb. Well, I do think they're dumb, but that isn't why I don't care.
