I'm thinking it's time for the Rolling Stones to say goodbye as well.

But Rolling Stones, The Who etc were phenomenal musicians and songwriters and are still not that bad till this day. KISS was just gimmick band.

I think it is utterly ridiculous how they are being inducted but acts like WAR, Chic etc who were REAL musicians have been snubbed for years but then again the RHOF are pretty biased toward African American artists.

It took Donna Summer's passing for them to even induct her after snubbing her for over a decade

I don't agree with this. KISS was good, straight-ahead rock music in their first few albums IMO.

Then came Beth.

Disagree with that, as both those two bands should've turned it in years ago and are pretty embarrassing to watch. I saw the Who a couple of years ago performing live and Roger Daltrey sounded ****ing terrible.

As for songwriters, I'd say Paul Stanley was one of the most consistent songwriters of his generation.

Plus he's written tons of material for other bands.

Fair enough but they are superior musicians to KISS who were just average musicians.

You don't have to be a superior musician to play great songs, as has been proved countless times. For the record though, Ace Frehley has always been regarded as one of the greatest guitarists in metal and the below quote by him says it all really:

"I'm an anomaly, I'm an un-schooled musician, I don't know how to read music, but I'm one of the most famous guitar players in the world, so go figure."

KISS may not have had high levels of instrumental proficiency, but they had outstanding meter (which is vastly more important in that straight-up style of rock). In fact after Ace left (after they nuked the fridge following the Destroyer album) for a short time he was replaced by a guitarist that *could* shred (Vinnie Vincent, who sadly had terrible substance abuse denons) and he didn't really work out.

I am going to have to lie down. The shock of the fat chef guy saying something sensible has overwhelmed me.

When Kiss bugger off, perhaps the world will stop playing their crap noise once and for all.

They make Judas Priest look and sound like musicians, thats how **** Kiss have always been.
