No, I don't think it's going to blow up. These are intelligent debators, not the "you suck, no you suck" types.
What's taking BigRain so long? Man, I have no life. LOL. *EDIT* Oh well. As usual, I am slow on the trigger.

Managed by Andy Warhol? That automatically pins image demerits on them, in my opinion. Warhol was probably one of the most image-bloated people to ever breathe in air.

Why ELP?... Why can't you start with The Beatles and every other band that has created or influenced their own rock sub-genre?
You're just proving my point... You think all rock music should be the same, dumb 2 minute songs with a stolen riff that's about doing your best friends sister, why can't you show a little appreciation for variety? |

Herion, Venis In Furs, Femme Fetale, The Gift and Sister Ray are some of the most beloved songs of the 60s... Why do you think people like those songs?... Lou Reeds good taste in leather? |

ELP came into this discussion because that was the basis for Punk in general but also bands like Kiss who knew it wasn't about the convention of 70's radio, I choose a random band (which I actually meant ELO) but the point remains the same (did you see what I did there). Kiss didn't get it right because it was "stolen" riffs about sex, but because it was about passionate people who felt that people should be writting about what they knew, not what they read.
To this degree Kiss is closer to the 60's folk movement than the prog bands.
