Kiss influenced counrty, rock, and metal!

ShadowSurfer 04-08-2006 07:28 PM

yup.
Garth Brooks first show - KISS. look at his stage show. very KISS like.
Metal band Pantera loved KISS. Chuck from Death's first show was KISS.
and almost every rock band under the sun has been to a KISS show.

As did Robert Johnson and Son House and Pink Floyd and nearly any other band. There is nothing special about KISS that is good. Get over it.

If you're going to say they influenced an entire genre, you should at least give a couple of examples for each genre. I mean just because a band loved that band, doesn't mean they were influenced by it, nor does seeing one of their shows mean they were influenced by it.

ShadowSurfer 04-08-2006 07:30 PM

It sounds like you guys need to get over it.

It is our job to hate KISS it seems that you are preaching to the wrong congragation holms. We ain't no make-up wearin' hippie lovers.

ShadowSurfer 04-08-2006 07:45 PM

KISS is only one band of many I enjoy.

acknowledging the fact they were one of the most influential bands of the 70s is just being real about the band. It's true, they were one of the most influential bands of the 70s. They outsold all their competition and had the best bands on the scene OPENING THEIR SHOWS.

denying this fact simply because you think they suck, is well, just talking with your head up your ass.

bungalow 04-08-2006 07:47 PM

The acts that opened for them, were hundreds of times better. Just because a certain band opens for another band, doesn't mean much. Groups pretty much take any gig they can get, you don't have to be influenced by KISS, to open for them.

I don't think anyone was denying they had the best bands opening up for them (read bungalows post on that) but yes they still opened for them, and yes they had influence, but you were saying next to zeppelin the most influencial band of the 70s? nah.

I'm not saying KISS is the greatest band of all time.

yes I can. read some books. They're those things with pages in them.

bungalow 04-08-2006 07:59 PM

Show me then dip****. Just because you say you read it in a book doesn't mean a damn thing. Let It Be by the Beatles was released in 1970, and that album inspired more musicans that KISS's sh*t albums combined. Oh, let me guess 'wrong.'

hmm.....y'know you're losing grip on a debate when you have to compare a band to the Beatles

not to mention the personal attacks.

bungalow 04-08-2006 08:02 PM

Hm, the Beatles put out material in the 70's. Therefore you could say that they were THE MOST influential band of the 70's. Next to Zeppelin right? Where does that leave KISS?

ShadowSurfer 04-08-2006 08:03 PM

wrong.

The Beatles broke up in 1970 and played no concerts together the entire decade.

Books dude - those things with pages in them.

bungalow 04-08-2006 08:04 PM

Wrong? You want to argue that Let It Be wasn't realesed in 1970? That would completely invalidate everything you have said up to this point.

The Beatles were not a touring rock band at any point during the 1970s.
In fact, there last live performance was in the 60s

And Let It Be is hardly their most influential album.

bungalow 04-08-2006 08:05 PM

What does that have to do with anything? They still put out an album, and that album was miles better than anything KISS put out.

Oh, point and burn! Should have ended right here ^.Get the **** over yourself. You dont know **** about ****. How many GOOD bands do you know that list influences as KISS? Normally its something talented, like Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, the Who, The Cure, Sabbath, Yes, all mentioned above. And if a band lists their influence as KISS, they'll sound just like KISS, and that is crap. I'm tired of the bickering bull****.
