Why do so many people enjoy stoopidity as entertainment? I only like the music of Kiss for the sake of the music. I hate the lyrics and the stage show (judging from the snippets I´ve seen on the Internet).
Why do some people like tea and others coffee?

I like the Marx Brothers but I also like the Three Stooges just as much.

But stoopid stoopidity? "Indiscretion in the Ladies Room" for example? Or "Getaway" ("I gotta, gotta getaway! Gotta, gotta getaway!" Repeat, repeat.).
Loads of bands repeat their own lyrics, Kiss don't have the exclusive rights to that.

I´d die of embarassment to perform that stuff in front of an auditorium full of people while wearing greasepaint.
I bet you would, but I'm sure plenty of $ would ease your embarrassment.

And Gene sticking his tongue out at the audience and spitting phony baloney blood is supposed to be entertaining? What´s the point?
It's called a trademark gimmick and it's primary aim is to get people to always remember it, which you've done.

You know what i really like about KISS?

That they realise the whole gimmick of KISS, they KNOW what they are exploiting and it's a business decision, in contrast with other bands that wear mask on stage to look all mysterious KISS does it just to put on a good show not to look all mysterious, and their songs are mostly theatric rock n roll they aren't as hardcore as their make up and behaviour is on stage and that to me says the make up is just a gimmick not something that reflects how artistic they are or defines their music.

And seriously, how many bands have their own pinball machine or their own brand of condoms? i can't think of any except KISS.

It's kind of ironic that Gene Simmons is actually preventing pregnancies.

And don´t forget Kiss´ very own branded coffin! Now that´s what I call merchandising! Some people will do anything for money!:p:

Definitely possible. Still doesn't make me think Kiss is any less crappy though. They literally have only one song I've ever heard that I like, and it comes from their very un-Kiss-y no makeup era.

Was it their Disco hit? lol

idk alot of KISS songs either but i do know detroit rock city and god gave rock n roll to you on the guitar.. oh, and strutter.

The make up may have actually worked well for them because it actually makes them look younger then they really are. Don't retire just move to Las Vegas where the rest of the circus is.

And the money!

neardeathexperience 08-13-2014 08:22 AM

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Ace was sitting in with Jimmy Fallon's band last night plugging his new album, but was not asked to do a whole song........King's Of Leon were the band who played.......sad

What's sad about it?
The guy is in his 60s and hasn't been relevant for over 35 years.
I can think of bands far more current who would bite your hand off to get to promote an album to a prime time mainstream audience like that.

Soulflower 08-13-2014 08:43 AM

I dont like Gene Simmons. He is a sexist, arrogant and very judgemental.

Necromancer 08-13-2014 08:52 AM

I'll go with the LA Kiss arena football team next year. Simmons asked Tim Tebow to start at quarterback, that's not going to happen.

Well the point that I was making is his old band is still selling out tours and there he is playing guitar and plugging his new album on Jimmy, but he didn't even play a song off it. As a founding member of KISS he will always be relevant to millions of fans.

I wouldn´t want to be caught dead in a KISS coffin. Haw, haw, haw!:stupid:

Vitne Eveille 08-24-2014 09:14 PM

I saw KISS 2 years ago in Norway and they were awesome. Actually it was a shared bill with Billy Idol, THAT was dope.

I would have loved to see them as the original group.

Lizzz 09-19-2019 09:40 AM

Yes, indeed

They honestly should.
I don't think they are in optimal conditions (as they claim) to give shows anymore, specially Paul and Gene. Paul Stanley doesn't seem to realize that his singing is just not at its best as it used to be in the 80s.

Yes, they have juiced every penny they could, but he band's longevity has inclined them to keep on performing and they know that even after they're dead, they'll still make tons out of their brand.

Mindy 09-19-2019 11:06 AM

my dad and uncle JUST went to that concert they had in Moline,Ill (Quad Cities)

I like two or three songs from them, they are the ICP of that generation too.. kiss army/juggalos both the same idea... https://boxden.com/images/icons/iUFxu44-compressor.png

OccultHawk 09-19-2019 11:09 AM

KISS is so underrated on MB.

The Batlord 09-19-2019 11:19 AM

Their music is stiff and Paul Stanley is a boring singer. Why would I listen to them when the New York Dolls already exist?

Why do men have nipples?

The Batlord 09-19-2019 11:39 AM

If you get a nipple ring it's a good place to hang your keys.

Frownland 09-19-2019 11:41 AM

Nipples are fun to play with when doing something really boring such as listening to Kiss's albums.

OccultHawk 09-19-2019 12:18 PM

KISS is just something you like. Like the planet Pluto. You don’t **** with it. Just be glad it’s out there.

Frownland 09-19-2019 12:22 PM

They're great performers but their recorded material outright sucks man.

Nah they're pretty bland and Death murdered them on their own song.

I know. Pluto has a weird orbit and isn’t even a planet.

Is it stupid to fall in love with a marketing campaign? Yes, but I don’t care.

If I loved it as a kid I love it now. On one of my pre-teen birthdays I got a KISS poster and I never stopped loving them.

I Wanna Rock’n’Roll All Night and Party Everyday

*Rolling numbers, rock and rolling, got my kiss records out*

I refuse not to love them. They’re cool af

Their drummer has kitty cat makeup, Paul Stanley's star over his eye is lame af, and Gene Simmons' topknot looks like ****.

Dude

They have their own army

The Batlord 09-19-2019 01:14 PM

I will raid their army base and steal their lunch money.

GunmouthGrace 10-10-2019 04:08 AM

.

The Batlord 10-10-2019 07:24 AM

So a bunch of old people hoping he doesn't play too much of his own material.

I didn't know Paul McCartney was there, Id rather go to his concert instead of KISS :o:

BrooklynEars 04-06-2023 04:00 PM

Did anyone catch the Ace and Eddie Trunk interview?
Ace wanted Paul to apologize for saying if they played with the original line up they would sound like piss instead of Kiss lol . Paul and Gene have been using voice tracks for live shows.
A fan sued Live Nation over it and they settled it.
As Grace Slick once said do you really want to your grandparents on stage.
It is Kisstory

Synthgirl 04-06-2023 04:35 PM

I will never not love Kiss. My dad raised me on them, I’ve probably been listening to their music for around 30 years. That being said they should have retired in the early 90s.
