It was that material that gave Jones the chance to show how good he was, and he couldn't handle the pressure. Which is why he had the problems he did and why he was finally ejected from the band. It doesn't matter if you were talking about his personal life or not, the man and the musician are same thing, you can't separate them.

Well that depends on your definition of talented.
Was he talented? I don't know, he may have been able to play a large number of instruments but he hardly put his stamp of authority on the Stones. and as that was the only band he was in and was HIS band, I can only judge him on that. Most people seem to think the Stones recorded their best stuff with Mick Taylor on guitar.
