Yeah I need more by the hollies, I only have long cool woman in a black dress, which i love. the guitar intro is awesome, and they kind of remind me of creedence, the vocals anyways. Yeah CSN is awesome, they have alot of great songs, woodstock is one of my favorites, love the lyrics. Teach your children and carry on i am both fond of as well. As far as the floyd goes, dark side is my favorite album, but i have listened to it so many times that it has lost some of the magic it had when i first discovered it. Wish you were here is my second favorite, as meddle is my third. I think that atom heart mother is above animals for me, as is piper at the gates of dawn, just becuase it had the best barrett tracks imo. I love the sound of floyd back when they released their 1st album, its so much different than when waters joined the band. I love interstellar overdrive, astronomy domine, and lucifer sam very much. Im not quite sure what to think of bike The floyd is my favorite prog. band by far though, and I like every album they have released very much. Even division bell is a great album. Its neat to see a band stick around for such a long time, 30 years in their case, and still release great albums from beginning to end. I would die to see them perform one last concert here in the states, but unfortunately waters and gilmour differ too much nowadays. Is waters coming out with a new album or was that just rumor?

Thedude- I almost picked up a Molly Hatchet cd the other day but didn't. It was only like 4$ I might go back and get it.

Stymie - I'm not even going to try to pick out my favorite Beatles album, but Revolver is good. AcDc is generally considered classic rock, though I'm not sure they really fall in with bands like Zeppelin and The Who.

Kashmir - I love Piper at the Gates of Dawn, though I have to be in the mood for it. Bike is one of my favorite songs. The Division Bell is a great album for Gilmour on guitar, though the lyrics aren't really up to par with most Floyd. I go through phases where I just listen to AHM, mainly the title track.

I have never mbeen much of an ac/dc fan, their songs all sound too much the same, although it is a good sound I just get tired of it quickly. The vocals are quite cool and unique however. Yeah the Division Bell is one of my favorite albums for gilmour on guitar, I especially love marooned, it may be my favorite instrumental by the floyd im not sure. I also like momentary lapse of reason alot too, especially on the turning away, it has one of my favorite solos in it. Piper takes some getting used to and you have to be in the mood for it totally. Another great song that is one of my favorites is green is the color of the more album, I love gilmours vocals in it, very relaxing. My all time favorite floyd song if i were to have to pick one would be shine on, its simply a masterpiece. Pink floyd is what got me into progressive rock, and I still love em to this day

Marooned is a good instrumental but i like Any Colour You Like a lot better. MLOR is a decent, probably my least favorite Floyd album. It has some strong points though, like On The Turning Away and Sorrow. I don't have More, do you think it's worth paying 10 bucks for?

probly not worth buying i guess, it depends. It has alot of instrumental movie themes in it which arent the best, but green is the color is an awesome song, one of my top favorites. ACYL is a great instrumental as well, now im second guessing which one i like better. I say we move onto a different band to discuss now. How about cream, anyone seen their reunion concert on tv lately? They still sounded awesome, clapton sounds the same on guitar as he did 30+ years ago. I have a weird taste in cream, with I'm so glad and tales of brave ulysses being my favorites up there with sushine, white room, and crossroads. They are my favorite rock trio, any other fans?

Cream is one of those bands I just haven't looked into that much. I've listened to the more popular songs like Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads, and White Room, but I don't have any albums. All I have is the Eric Clapton Milenium Collection and it's got a couple of Cream songs.

Whats a good album to start with?

Mine is pretty close to that, though the wall is not that high for me, I find it somewhat overrated. Back to cream, a good cd to get that has both cream and clapton would be the cream of clapton. i believe it has 10 clapton tracks and 10 cream tracks. Once you listen to cream some you will begin to like and appreciate it more and more.

disraeli gears is cream's first as i recall. it was my first record bought with my own money. still have it too although it's more appropriate described as a frisby now.

cream....and clapton, even now, are blues. most sixties and seventies...heck....most rock period is blues based. 'gears' has sunshine of your love on it but it has several blues pieces that are timeless. it may sound a bit dated but it's a good start johnny. pick up live cream too if you remain interested after that un.

I was thinking and.....you know what.
I think that all Classic Rock is overrated.
Wanna know why?
All they do is sing about drugs, and getting high.
In fact....I was listening to a Bob Dylan song, and I think he mentioned getting stoned at least 20 times. Not too much different than Kanyes song about getting high.
Here me out here, I mean.....what kind of **** lyrics is this
" I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together, see how they fly like pigs in the sky see how they run"-I am The Walrus........written on an Acid Trip........All of these so called Classic Rock "artists" are a bunch of druggies. Always getting high. Geez, these are great role models.

When your feeling "down and out" do you think that David Gilmour will spare a few dollars......hell NO! They are all selfish and In it for the money. And another reason why it is overrated is.......where are all the "phat" beats. How can you possibly dance to music if it doesnt have a "phat" beat. These ****ty "artists" need to learn how to program a beat. Now what I mean?
What is music without a beat?
No matter what you say.....I'm way to ignorant to change my opinion on this. All classic rock sucks. If you still dont believe me........I'll reply with even more ****ty examples to try and get you to see my way.
