classic rock outside of jimi hendrix and led zeppelin is underrated, i think. its easy to see how many of the more upbeat beatles music has some of the same sound as maroon 5 or the like. many punk artists, thought from the USA have a british lilt to their voices, for example green day; it seems to have evloved from the british invasion in that sense

When was the last time you saw someone other than either me or Jackhammer talking up bands like UFO , Scorpions , Thin Lizzy or The Groundhogs here?

I agree with that. Maybe trollheart but apart from that there are very few on here who like this sort of thing (I guess some of you might call it 'dad rock') but it's not all about finding the coolest bands. Thin Lizzy are the perfect example of how damn good Rock can be without resorting to cliches, so yes it is underated. *goes to put some UFO on*

You're probably right about here, but I think outside of here a lot of classic rock does get a lot of hype. Not specifically the bands you mentioned, but a lot of 60s and 70s rock does get put up on a huge pedestal by the rockists of the western world.
