I heard that Rumble was the first song with distortion, that Link wray or whoever invented distortion but I was kinda sceptical

I dont think that is the first song with distortion.


Though it is considered the first popular song to feature the power chord, and of course, Townshend and Hendrix were heavly influenced by Wray.

Dick Dales Miserlou features some early use of distortion and reverb, as well as a strange speeded up guitar style that one could describe as a primitive and early form of shreding.
